Terms of use

The following terms of use apply when commissioning a portrait. Please ensure you have read all terms prior to ordering.


The Customer must obtain written confirmation that I can use the photograph if the picture has been taken by a third party,

Delivery terms

8 weeks is a standard time for completing a commission. I can however complete in a shorter time dependent on other commitments. Please let me know your requirements at the time of ordering.

Once a completion date has been agreed, you will receive the completed work on or prior to the date agreed. In the event that I am unable to achieve the date for any reason, I will inform you as soon as I possibly can. If you wish to cancel under these circumstances, then you will receive a full refund of your deposit.

I use Royal mail next day delivery signed for, and Parcel Force Express 24 for larger pictures. The price includes this.

Payment terms

A pre-payment of 25% of the cost by cheque or bank transfer will book a slot. Work will not commence on the commission until payment has cleared in the bank. This is not required when redeeming gift cards.

A cleared balance of payment shall allow the dispatch of the picture

Satisfaction Guarantee

It is my aim to always produce a high quality picture exactly to my Customer requirements and expectations. I therefore include the following Returns and Cancellation into the terms of use.


I will send a picture by email for approval prior to framing. This will give you the opportunity to make changes to a maximum of 2 changes.

If you are not happy on receipt of the picture, you will then have 7 calendar days to contact me to either:

a) Rectify the problem.

b) Cancel

In both of the above cases the Customer will cover all associated delivery costs for return and re-delivery where applicable.


The customer has 7 calendar days from agreement of order to cancel. The 25% pre-payment will be refunded if cancelled. This will not apply if the commission has been agreed to start within the first 7 days.

Should the Customer wish to cancel their order after the first 7 days and prior to delivery, then there will be no refund of the 25% pre-payment.

Should the Customer wish to cancel after receipt of the picture in line with “Returns” above (i.e. within 7 days of receipt), they will receive a refund of the cost, minus the 25% pre-payment.


As the artist I retain copyright to the completed picture and retain the right to display the picture on my website, share on social media and flyers for marketing purposes.

Any reproduction of the picture by others will be in breach of Copyright.

I show completed pictures in the public domain such as my website and social media. Customers must indicate if they do not wish this to happen at the time of ordering.
